Have a wonderful summer break! Thank you for another great school year! Please enjoy your break and don’t forget to read, relax, and come back well-rested.
Limerick asked parents and volunteers to come share their occupation with us! The students enjoyed having a guest speaker share their careers with the class. This was a wonderful opportunity for our parents to visit and share their career and experiences with our students. This opportunity encourages students to explore their interests and passions as an extension of their academic program and in the process better understand themselves, their community, and the world.
Local District Northwest Pupil Services awarded Ms. Garvin the Attendance Rising STARS trophy. Limerick staff has been working diligently to raise our attendance. Students are awarded weekly and monthly for perfect attendance. Classrooms are rewarded for growth and improvement in their attendance. Teachers, Office staff members, and the Principal personally make calls to students who are absent. We know the importance of attendance and we want everyone to come to school. We know students succeed in academics when they attend school. We know it is difficult for students to build their skills if they are frequently absent.
Congratulations to the YS team at Limerick.
They won their championship game this past weekend at Mullholland Middle School.
The team had three games back to back and they remained focused throughout the game. We are so proud our students and applaud them for their efforts. Thank you Coach Juan for leading the YS team to victory.
To all the teachers, aides, staff, custodians, food service workers, playground supervisors, nurses, psychologists, speech therapists, and administrators who make our school such a wonderful place to learn: Happy Teacher Appreciation Day! Staff members were recognized for all they do throughout the year. The red carpet was rolled out for our staff members. Limerick truly appreciates all staff members!
Parents were invited to our annual Volunteer Tea event. We had an Alice and Wonderland theme. The volunteers enjoyed sandwiches and desserts. We want to thank all the volunteers here at Limerick. We appreciate all you do for our school.
Wonder is a based on the New York Times bestseller. This is an inspiring story for our students. It is about a boy who transitions into a mainstream fifth grade class for the first time. He has a rare medical facial deformity and has had 27 surgeries. The message of this story is about the power of kindness, friendship and acceptance. Limerick had the privilege of having Lionsgate come to our school and share the story of Wonder.
The Great Kindness Challenge Week at Limerick is a week packed with activities. As a Kindness Certified School, Limerick is passionate about bringing a positive environment on our campus. Students are encouraged to be kind-hearted ambassadors. We strive to create a culture of kindness here.
