In February, we celebrate Black History Month. We had the privilege of seeing a performance by “Rhythms of the Village.” This is a multidisciplinary cultural program funded by Onochie Chukwurah. Students, teachers and staff were captivated by the singing, dancing, and storytelling that were entertaining, educational, thought provoking and humorous. The performance provided relevant learning experiences rooted in the Nigerian culture. “
Kindness week was another successful event. It helped to elevate the school climate. We had fun activities all week long. Kindness week provided opportunities for our students to care for each other in ways that go above and beyond their normal interactions. Students felt an increase in compassion, unity and respect.
Literacy Night at Limerick was an experience where parents and their children came to listen to teachers and read stories about Kindness. Students also had milk and cookies during story time. Thank you teachers, students, and parents for participating in this event.
We are so excited to have the teachers back! We look forward to a productive partnership to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child's education.
We are excited to have the students come back to school. Hope everyone is relaxed, recharged and ready to start the New Year. Our focus is helping our students achieve their fullest potential this year. The partnership with our parents and school community is important for our students to be successful. Each year, we are amazed to see growth in our students socially, emotionally, and academically.
Thank you to Ms.Marshall for an amazing Winter Holiday Show. Every year families are invited to come observe our annual Winter Holiday Performance. We had a total of 4 different performances with the Chorus performing. The students and teachers worked hard to practice and rehearsal for this special event. There were a variety of songs such as Jingle bell Rock, Good Old Down Home Country Chanukah, Light a Candle for Peace and much more. All in all, the students did a job well done! Thank you for all the support parents and staff!
Thank you to all teachers, staff, parents and families who came out to our annual Trunk or Treat event. Everyone had a great time! This event took place on our school playground where the kids went car-to-car to get their treats. We even had a haunted house for primary and upper grades. There was food, dancing, balloon animals, face painting, and a costume contest. We look forward to seeing everyone next year!
This year for Red Ribbon Week our theme was “Life is your journey. Travel drug free.” During the week of October 23-27, students wore red on Monday. On Tuesday, students wore their favorite sports jersey or shirt to team up against drugs. On Wednesday, the students wore mismatched or crazy socks. On Thursday, students wore pajamas. On Friday, we had crazy hair day. The school community came together to be a part of the creation of a drug free school.
